So, this may be soo stupid to ask, but I figured who better to ask then LIW ladies AND I am home sick and have more time to post!
AFTER, we registered and had my shower. FH thinks its a waste to keep the 12 cup Food Processor and thinks we should exchange it for other things we may need and we will get the 3 cup food processor instead.
I am not a well rounded cook, so I am not sure if I will ever need such a big food processor or even one at all.
Do you use yours or plan on using it? If so, what size is it and what do you use it for?
my step-mom told me she never uses the big one. she said the smaller one is much easier to just whip out and use (and store when youre not using it)
so i registered for the smaller one

Re: NWR: Food Processor w. poll
I cook all the time. I haven't used my food processor once since I got it in Nov. I am sure it depends on the type of food you cook though. I just never make anything that seems to require a food processor.

Re: NWR: Food Processor w. poll
Thanks, I do somewhat agree with FH, but he could've mentioned his reasoning before one of our family members purchased it. I am really hesitant to return it because she bought it and I don't want to offend her. So, I am trying to find reasoning in keeping the 12-cup.

Looks like the little one is best used. Do you think I should mention it to the bridesmaid who got it for us??? I think she would understand, but who knows.

I use my 12-cup for sauces and what not .. it depends if you personally would use it though

I have tons of recipes that my sister asked to be bought to the shower. I am not used to cooking at all. Sauce is one of the recipes I was given and def want to learn to make!!!

Re: NWR: Food Processor w. poll
we have both (bought the big one a few years ago and got the small one for our engagement party this summer). we use the big one ALL the time and have yet to use the little one. that being said it really depends on how you eat and what you want to make. we make a lot of hummus and tend to cook in bulk and fh prefers to hand cut any veggies for smaller dishes. i can see the small one being really convenient for smaller dishes or chopping things to add in.

Re: NWR: Food Processor w. poll
I say 12 only because I am always making big portions when I have familiy over and hate having to split it up into the smaller food processor at least you know if you need more room you will have it.

Re: NWR: Food Processor w. poll
I borrow FMIL's 12-cup one all the time for sauces, stews and soups. I used to borrow my mom's 3 cup one for every day things, so I actually registered for both.

I think it depends on what you like to cook.

Re: NWR: Food Processor w. poll
I have the smaller one and if I use it once a month that is a lot. I do cook every night so if you said you are not a hard core cook I would exchange it for the smaller one and then use the extra money for another item you need.

Re: NWR: Food Processor w. poll
I have the 3 cup one, but I am also registering for that large one that is also a blender... I figured that I'd need a blender, so why not also have a larger food processor just in case?

i see no reason for bringing it up. even if she were to ask how you're liking it you can really say you love it because you technically exchanged it for the same one (just a smaller version)

Re: NWR: Food Processor w. poll
If I remember an episode of Good Eats, a 12-cup will be too big unless you have HUGE quantities to begin with...is there a 5-cup instead?
