NWR: Foot Pain

NWR: Foot Pain

anyone else suffer from Foot pain?
and i'm not talking about wearing an uncomfortable pair of shoes one day and then having your feet hurt.

I'm talking about random, persistent foot pain with no cause?
I thought it was a bunion - but its not. I went to the podiatrist and he took xrays and confirmed its not a bunion - but i've had this pain in the ball of my foot for more than 2 months now and i can barely walk. each step is literally agony and i can only wear flip flops in any comfort - which is not saying much because each step hurts so bad.
i wanted to try to break in my wedding shoes and i cried because i couldn't even stand up in them (they are only 2 3/4 inches tall) or put any pressure on my left foot because of the pain.

i don't know what to do! i bought everything from inserts to gel pads and nothing works and i'm so scared iwon't be able to wear my wedding shoes which is a huge problem in itself since my dress has already been shortened!

I have foot troubles... Did the MD say it was metatarsalgia?? because that it what I have at the balls of both feet and it kills me to wear heels and if I don't have orthotics in my regular shoes I cannot walk more than 2 blocks without horrible pain. If this is what you have, I bought a metatarsal pad for each wedding shoe and you place it slightly behind the ball of the foot.. basically it transfers the pressure point slightly behind the ball of the foot, so it won't have so much pain with each step. HTH. FM me if you need more info

ETA: try fitflop brand flip flops. Because of the curved bottoms it transmits pressure to different point in the foot as well. I can wear these with no inserts and walk without pain.

he didn't say what it was. he put this stupid inset on my foot that caused more pain than not and i had to take it off before i got back to my office.
i've been doing my own research and i think maybe ihave what you said.
which store/website did you buy your pads from? are they clear or light so they won't show in your heels for the wedding? i can't wear heels at all at this point because of the pain. Does this pain ever go away?

mine are actually white, but they are slightly narrower than the shoe itself, so you cant see it. It is maybe the size of the bottom of a campbells soup can. I got it from a surgical supply store. You could even try CVS or walgreens. They should have a good selection of them.
What has worked best for me in the past is 1. ice the area on top and at the ball of the foot for about 10 minutes 2x a day
and 2. if nothing else helps, a cortisone injection should knock it right now. I have had the injections in the past and they help a whole lot.

how often can you actually get a cortisone injection? i wouldn't mind getting one of those for the wedding/HM and how long do they last?

they usually do them 3x a year, no more than that.
mine lasted a few months. I would advise you do one the week before the wedding and if you can the night of the wedding or the day after ice the foot down so the inflammation doesn't come back after all the standing and dancing.
