What are you doing now as far as jobs? Also, do you have a Master's degree? If so, in what? Thanks.

Re: NWR - For those with a B.A. in English...
I don't have a BA in English but a lot of my friends do, so I can answer for them One is in graduate school to become a school counselor, one works in the legal department (sort of as a paralegal) of a major motion picture studio, one is the internet coordinator for a bank, and another one works as an assistant to an executive at a marketing firm. Hope this helps!
ETA: like slwh2005, another one of my friends (an English/Creative Writing major) got her Masters in Library Science and now runs the library at a boarding school in New England.

I have a BA in English. I also have a Master's degree in Library Science. Now I am the program coordinator at a public library. I still am a librarian there too.

I have a BA in English. I was a double major in English and History. My first job out of school was in Public Relations, now I work in college administration. You can do almost anything with an Eng major. My Eng major friends work everywhere from PR to teaching to publishing to freelance writing to editorial to law. With an English degree, employers are assured that you can read and write well, and most companies want to employ people who have such skills. If you have concerns, you can talk to the Career Services office at your college, and they can give you examples of jobs that recent English grads have obtained. English is a great major - a lot of work but very rewarding. Good luck!

I agree! I think it is an excellent degree to have and is looked at highly. I have a BA in literature/rhetoric (fancy word for English) and worked in advertising out of college. Then I went back for my MA in education to teach.

Great. Thanks ladies. I was just trying to figure out what my options were. I would really like to be in advertising or marketing, or work in editing. Anything where I could write. That's the impirtant thing tome. I need to write.

Re: NWR - For those with a B.A. in English...
I have a B.A. in English. I loved being an English major. I went straight to law school and I am an attorney now.
Many of my the friends I made in my major are now teachers (makes sense) and one friend who was an English major works in Human Resources.
