After xmas last year my company cut everyones hours down... so since I had my 2nd daughter, I have only been working 2 - 21/2 days a week, which I do LOVE the time with them but it was a small pay cut. I have been able to collect a % of unemployment thru a program they have... but now its going to be up in a few week... I LOVE where I work, but once it runs out, I am NOT going to be able to afford to stay. There are practically no jobs and everyone pays so little now... I am officially starting to freak out! i don't know what to do! Just had to vent!!

i hope you find soemthing soon! can you find something full time now or do you still need to work part time because of your kids? have you checked out going to a head hunter? sometimes, if you find a good one, they can find something for you quicker than searching through monster or one of those big job agencies. also, try craigslist. and don't forget, alot of people need services that are not normal. try babysitting - you can charge alot for that since people always need someone to watch their kids! or dog walking, those people make a killing in NYC! - just saying to think out of the box sometimes, especially with hard economic times like this.

def look into an agency..one that doesn't charge you for placement. that's how I got my job.
