If you need gas, get it tonight! Dont get gas tomorrow! If enough people dont get gas on tuesday, May 15, 2007, the price of gas may decrease significantly!

i got this email but i also got another that made more sense.
Instead of not buying gas tomorrow (bc really everyone will just get it tonight or wednesday) they said to boycott the big gasoline companies like EXXON and MOBIL ...
to me that makes more sense!

yeah, that does make more sense. if you don't buy gas weds., you'll still need it another day so sales of gas will still be the same when you think about it. It'll just be lower one day and higher other days.

I agree people still need gas and skipping a day wont change that... but i can see how going to small, non chain gas stations would help!!! support the little guys and the major ones will have to lower their prices to keep up!!!

yeah i read an email about that too and how boycotting it won't do anything and infact it can do the opposite effect, i forgot what the whole thing said bc this was a while ago.

Re: NWR: GAS OUT TOMORROW
here it is
Here's the idea:
For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do! Now, don't wimp out at this point.... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people.
I am sending this note to 30 people. If each of us sends it to at least ten more (30 x 10 =3D 300) ... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 =3D 3,000)...and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth group of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers. If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... THREE >>>>HUNDRED MILLION >>>>PEOPLE!!!
Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all. (If you don't understand how we can reach 300 million and all you have to do is send this to 10 people.... Well, let's face it, you just aren't a mathematician. But I am, so trust me on this one.)
How long would all that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!!
I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you?
Acting together we can make a difference. If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. I suggest that we not buy from EXXON/MOBIL UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN.
THIS CAN REALLY WORK.

Re: NWR: GAS OUT TOMORROW
Ok, I have not been getting gas from those big stations for a while. Although the 'mom and pop' stations are still on the high side, and I doubt they will lower the prices much untill AFTER summer

Re: NWR: GAS OUT TOMORROW
I understand not patronizing the big stations, but whenever I go to those little stations, the gas is crap and runs out much quicker so I end up spending more money anyway, so I'm not saving anything. I've seen the difference in how many miles per gallon I get when I go to different stations, and typically, my gas burns the fastest when I get 'cheap' gas. My dad is a mechanic so he tells me which stations in my area have the best gas, but when I'm not around my house, i'll only use exxon or mobile or another large chain.

Re: NWR: GAS OUT TOMORROW
Its a nice idea and all, but practically speaking, I dont think it would ever work. This problem can only be helped by the government big wigs, so basically we are all screwed!
