A co-worker of mine was listening to the radio (BLI I think) and heard that there will be a gas strike on Friday. Gas prices are absolutely ridiculous, as I'm sure you are all aware, and with us planning our weddings, we need to save as much money as possible. If you need gas, get it Thursday or wait to Saturday. Maybe we can make a difference!

The whole reason why gas is ridiculous right now is because gas is becoming more scarce. People need to stop driving big a$$ trucks, SUVs and anything that consumes WAY too much oil. I honestly don't get why people in LI need a giant truck. I don't get why a 4'11 tall lady needs a giant a$$ truck. It may be hot to drive one but if people continue, we are going to be in BIG trouble. This happened in the 70's due to the GIANT gas guzzling cars and the problem was quickly solved when the tiny 4 cylinder cars started coming around. Manufacturers saw that gas was low for a while so they started with vans, trucks and the SUV craze started the gas prices to rise. I used to blame Bush but when Canada is paying 5 bucks a gallon, you know there is a problem. People need to get rid of giant cars that are not needed unless you live in Alaska. God bless my 4 Cyl Altima which gets pretty nice gas mileage. Even so, in a couple years I may get a Prius- despite how ugly I think they are! You can't beat 45 MPG!

so true. i didn't say it bc i didn't want to stir the LIW pot, but i was def thinking it.

so true. i didn't say it bc i didn't want to stir the LIW pot, but i was def thinking it.
I don't get why this will stir the pot but it is inevitable as to why we have a major issue here.
