So I got a gym membership and have been attempting to go on a regular basis, but I am an impatient person when it comes to waiting for results. I am beginning to get discouraged and want to quit- any one have ideas for staying motivated??

Re: NWR: Getting discouraged
I would make a plan for the week, and try to do something different everyday. Some days take a class, another day do some cardio and an ab routine (have one ready for that day), another day do arms, legs, and butt. Keep it fresh and plan your routine ahead of time. If I don't plan ahead, I'm definitely less likely to get my butt to the gym

ITA.... Create a weekly routine. But like Bride2011 said, keep it fresh!! That way you're not bored with your workouts and you look forward to your workouts!!

Have you changed your eating habits at all? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but working out alone doesn't lead to weight loss. You need to change your eating habits as well.

Re: NWR: Getting discouraged
i have been eating healthier. there have been a couple days the last few weeks where i have eaten terribly (mcdonalds) because i was on multiple road trips and there isnt much to choose from at the rest stops.
I would much prefer to change my eating habits all together and not work out because i hate it but i know that wont work either.
i just need to start seeing results so i can feel like i am on the right track

Actually believe it or not, that WOULD work. You CAN lose weight without exercise, but you CANNOT lose weight without changing your eating habits.
What about portion sizes? Are you aware of them?
As for gym motivation, you have to find something you ENJOY doing. If you don't like running, don't go on the treadmill. If you enjoy dancing/aerobics, try some of the classes.
Once you pick some things you actually enjoy, it's a lot easier to get yourself to go.
ETA: are you feeling a difference in your clothes? Sometimes you'll find you might not be losing pounds, but you'll lose inches.
