How much do you pay for it and do they help your nails grow? Once my nails start to grow they get cracked and eventually chip and it is making me crazy. I want them to be a nice length for the wedding and heard about doing the gel. Can anyone give any info?

your nails will grow, but you have to keep it up. Once you have your gels removed, even safely, you will be in the exact same situation with brittle, short nails.
Try drinking gelatin, like knox. It really helps!
Try getting regular manicures instead, and keeping lotion in your purse to apply to your hands and nails frequently.
I believe you can also by gelatin pills, but I do not know where.
I wore gels for years.
When I removed them it took me a year to get my nails back into shape!
BUT, I saved $1400 a year that I would have spent on gel fill ins etc.

I have UV gel and love it. Its so low maintenance. I was always worrying about chipping nail polish and breaking nails. I know they will be crap when i take them off but they were crap before.
It's $65 for the set, then about $23 for fill-ins. (not cheap but worth it for the wedding) I am supposed to go every 2 weeks , but i am ok with 3 weeks.

Yeah I go for regular manicures but I guess with typing all day and doing other household chores (forgetting to wear gloves) they chip easily. I think the UV was what I was thinking it is just like an extra coating right? How much do you tip for getting it done?

my friend just started doing it. she likes it b/c her nails don't chip. then, last go around, she got french tips but they weren't tips they were her nails and they look AMAZING. she is being my guinea pig b/c my nails are a mess if i don't get manis weekly; they always break.
