I have a Louis collection, I'm addicted! I wouldn't Magic Eraser it. You can take a warm, damp washcloth to the straps to get off any immediate dirt. Like geegee said if you take your bag to the store at Americana or one of the city stores they will have the handles replaced for you for a fee. You have to remember though, that they only replace the handles, so the leather patches on the bag stay on it. So you get the bag back with the really white looking new handles, and they're attached to really dark worn in leather. Once you start to darken and wear in the new straps it doesn't look as weird. It's definitely worth replacing your handles once every 3-5 years if you carry your Speedy every day! I love my Speedy!! One of my wedding presents was the Damier Azur Speedy 35!!!

LOL! I was lusting after it for so long! I actually somehow ended up paying less for it in Italy because of the VAT! Woot!

My only issue is, I put too many things in it, it hurts to wrist carry

I don't have that particular bag... but a Coach bag with a similiar size and shape and the same thing happens to me if I overstuff it!! My arm hurts... but I just ignore it and tell myself that's my workout!! It's making me stronger to carry my bag!! haha!! Especially when I have to walk for a while with it on my arm like that!!!

Can I clean the handles on my speedy with the magic eraser?



I'm not crazy about the oxidizing, its because I read the paper in the morning and then carrying my bag to work and the handles are turning black...

Whaddya think?

the handles are supposed to darken, its from the oils from your hands, personally i dont really like when the handles are brand new, i think they look so much better worn in, fsil used to sit on the couch watching tv rubbing the handles of her lv bag lolollll

I know but its not the oxidizing that bothers me, its like BLACK newspaper ink. I need to wear gloves to read the paper...

take it to the store and let them clean it for you. Don't chance it. I recently had to take my speedy in (the pipping on the corners popped through the leather binding). The women in RF told me NEVER try and repair/clean yourself because then they won't be repsonsible for it.

ohhhhh ok hmmm i still wouldnt use an eraser on it, i would go by the LV store and see what they say, they may have cleaning products

My handles are all dark and oxidized....

I would go to the LV store and ask what to use.
