What is the best way to remove them? I had them for my wedding and loved them, but they make some things difficult, and I don't want the expense of keeping them up. They are already grown out a lot. Should I just file the ends and let them grow out naturally? Or can they come off with acetone? I'd prefer to do whatever damages my nails the least.

I went to the nail place and they cut off the length and then filed them down, and also filed the top of my nail. They didn't take it all off the first time because they said it would ruin my nails - so I started filing the gel off myself. Its finally all gone now (a month later) and my nails are really weak. I

Did it hurt when you cut the length? I don't want my nails to be weak so I'm thinking of cutting/filing the length and then just letting the rest grow out so when the gel is gone, only new nail will be left. Is that a bad idea?
