NWR Glendale Queens

Original post by jspoons

Does anyone know anything about this neighborhood? We are considering going to look at a condo there, but we know nothing about it. Thanks

I live in Woodside, not far from there. The neighborhood is good as far as I know. Keep in mind, they are building a new mall there & that may make the are overcrowded.

Where are they building a mall? I hadn't heard of this.

Right by my house, where Atlas Terminals used to be. 80th St. and Cooper Ave. It's gonna be so bad for traffic and those of us that live there.

I think the Atlas Terminals thing is going to be small. Someone just said they're building a mall on 88th Street and 74th Ave. That's further up than Atlas. Damn, they are just building everywhere but they won't build a freakin Walmart which I would actually go to a lot.

Yes, right by Cooper and 88th (by 74th Ave), we saw plans for the mall, I think a Target, movie theater and low-income housing. We really loved the house (it was the English tudor) but after seeing the plans we decided not to buy it.

The neighborhood voted down the low income housing. So as of right now, that is not going up. I pass by Atlas every morning on my way to work and noticed that they have really made a lot of progress. It is definitely starting to resemble a mall now. While I love to shop, I don't want this thing so close to my house.

Hmm, I'll have to stop by. And I have to start reading the local paper again. I feel so out of the loop lately.
