Does anyone know anything about this neighborhood? We are considering going to look at a condo there, but we know nothing about it. Thanks

Re: NWR Glendale Queens
Glendale is very nice. Not too far from me. What part are you looking at? The lower end of Glendale towards Ridgewood isn't as nice as Upper Glendale, closer to the 80s. The down side is that you are not close to any subways so you'll have to bus it to a train. On Myrtle, you can take the Q55 bus down to Wyckoff/Myrtle M/L trains OR on 82nd you can take the Q29 bus to Woodhaven Blvd R/V/G trains. Hope this helps.

I live in Woodside, not far from there. The neighborhood is good as far as I know. Keep in mind, they are building a new mall there & that may make the are overcrowded.

Where are they building a mall? I hadn't heard of this.

Re: NWR Glendale Queens
We almost bought a house in Upper Glendale. 74th Ave and Ridge Ave. That is the only nice part of Glendale (Upper). I wouldn't buy a place in any other part. I lived in Maspeth for 12years (just moved) and I see bad changes...

by 88th Street and 74th Ave, that is one of the reasons we didn't buy a house there....next to it they will build low-income housing....

It's about 1hour. YOu will need to take express bus to Midtown, or city bus to Woodhaven subway station. The R or V. I would't want to use the M, J or Z

I would say at least an hour to midtown, probably 1 1/2 hours to downtown.
If you take the Q55 towards brooklyn and take the L, it will go faster. But I truly despised getting groped every morning on that nasty train.

That's Ridgewood-Glendale. Close to Cypress hills. I would't want to live there...it is changing fast

I think they still consider that part Glendale. I think Ridgewood starts on 65th but I'm not sure where it starts in terms of Cooper.

Re: NWR Glendale Queens
Definitely look and see for yourself but in case you like the general area, you really want to be on the other side of Myrtle and higher up in the 70s/80s and it's much nicer. I'm really not sure of the Condo situations around here, but you might also want to consider, Maspeth, Middle Village, parts of Elmhurst are ok, Rego Park is nice and closer to the train. FM if you need anything else.
