NWR: GRE

Hello Ladies I am appling to grad school next year and I need to take the GRE. Does anyone know what the difference is between the GRE and the GMAT?

I really dont want to take a tutoring course, Should I?

Pretty sure GRE is for grad school, not business, and GMAT is for business school (MBA).

I took the GRE's...i would def study for it...You can buy the test prep books at barnes and nobles or wherever they sell books...

Its a ton of Math and English questions and you have to write an essay, there is also reading on it too.
Brush up on your math skills b/c you are not allowed to use a calculator! I was and still am horrible at math, so I pretty much guessed during the math part. Most grad schools require you to either get a 1000 on the GRE's or a 3.0 GPA to get in.

i took the GRE (it's for grad school)
i took a course to help me prepare for it.

all the other post-graduate exams are more specific to the type of program (GMAT, MCAT, LSAT)

The GRE is used for most PHD programs and some masters. The GMAT is used pretty much only for MBA students.

There are 3 sections -- Math, Verbal, and Quantitative reasoning (logic games).

You should certainly review with a book that comes with a CD so you can take the test on computer -- which is how it is offered now.
