Hey girls. We have decided that we would like to go to Greece for our Honeymoon. Has anyone ever been there and can you recommend a hotel or a villa. We are looking at Santorini, Oia and Fira. Thats all I know right now.

oh, but you should island hop a bit! it's so easy, and so much fun....
we're staying at fira, becuase we like people / action.... Oia is more of a quiet area, with an amazing view of the crater... Aparently, they aren't as close to each other as you'd think, being that it's a tiny island....
I highly recommend you surf tripadvisor.com for hotels in santorini (and other greek islands...) they have visitor reviews that are candid, so you know exactly what goes on in each hotel. they also search several websites for the best price for the hotel you selected....
(we're also visiting athens, and chania / iraklion in crete...) can't wait

We were looking for trips to Egypt, and they all seem to be included in the tour books for Greece, so believe me, there are HOARDES of reasonably priced Greek cruises, some of which also include a day or two in Turkey. Pop in to a Liberty Travel, they'll load you up with books.

Oh we're going to Greece for our HM--we decided to do Athens and Santorini so that we get the bests of both worlds!
We went on to TripAdvisor to look up hotel info. and reviews. We're going to be staying in Fira in Santorini.

AHhhhhhhhh Greece, its heaven, you will love it. There are a tons of hotels in Athens, of course. You can stay in the heart of Athens, (Monastiraki, Plaka, Syntagma) where you can be close to the Acropolis and the areas where 'the Gods roamed', hehe, or you can stay in the suburban areas of Ahtens, the beaches there are beautiful, like Glyfada, Voula, Vouliagmeni, I can go on and on. Def do a search on google for hotels and areas or/and talk to your travel agent. And both the Aeagean and Ionian islands are breathetaking. HTH

You're going to have an amazing time!! Stay at the Katikies in Santorini = hot!! expensive, but soooo worth it!

wel, we just booked our honetmoon adn we're going ot athens, santorini, mykonos adn crete....2 weeks... seems like santorini is the most beautiful out of them all... we're staying at a pretty nice place called IKIES...they have private villas available too... search greekislands.com adn shir;ey at meandertravels.com was our agent and she really worked hard to find us aweseom places at decent rates... pick her brain for ideas...

OMG that place looks amazing!!! just a tad little itty bitty out of our budget though haha I think FH would just die if I told him it was 1500 a night.
We do want something with a pool though. Thanks to allt he girls I have some great ideas. I didnt think to hop around until I read all the posts.

We are doing Egypt for our honeymoon too! We definitely thought we were the only ones!!! Our trip is all booked, and we did tons of research so if you need help planning, shoot me a FM!

I stayed in Athens and Crete ...and then while I was there we island hopped....best thing we did... Crete and Santorini are my favorite islands...
When I went to Santorini I always said It is perfect for a honeymoon... definatley stay there over night.

I went to Greece 2 summers ago for 3 weeks. It was absolutely amazing. We island hopped and then stayed w/some family that I have their. I used a fantastic travel agent. His name is Stavros at Anemos Tours. I think their webiste is anemostours.com. You should def. go to more than just Santorini. And choose either Fira or Oia - don't stay in both - it's easy to travel from one to the other. If you go to Mykonos - I can reccommend an amazing hotel. It's called The Pestasos Bay/Beach (it goes by both) hotel. It was absolutely breathtaking and it is literally on the Agean Sea. When you lay out by the pool (which is absolutely gorgeous) all you can see is the Agean Sea.
