NWR: Had a terrible scare yesterday..

We thought Lucky (1 of my cats) went missing. If I dont see them when I get home Ill look to see where they are at. They'll usually be in 1 of their usual hiding spots. Well I found Tommy but couldnt find Lucky any where. I started to panic thinking he got outside some how. For about 45 mins we looked for him all over the apt and outside up and down the block calling his name and shaking his treats (which he usually comes running for) and nothing. I was hysterical!!

We came back in the house and I was sitting in my rm crying and FH says hes going to go keep looking. As hes about to walk out he calls me to come and I run to the livingrm and see Lucky pokes his head out and came walking out of a spot btwn my treadmil and I box I have in front of it. I didnt even know there was space there for him to get inbtwn. I must have checked by the treadmil 10x!! I ran and scooped him up and was hysterical cuz I was so happy he was home and safe but then I wanted to kick his furry butt for making me panic for almost an hour and not coming out when we called him!!

But ladies OMG the feeling of thinking he was missing was HORRIBLE!!! I know there are a lot of animal lovers here so u can def relate. My cats are my kids! Im just so happy hes home and ok. I dont know what I would have done if he was gone.

I have a cat, dog and rabbit (ALL RESCUES!!!) and if I can't find the cat or the dog (the rabbit is in a cage), I FREAK OUT. They are my furbabies and I would be hysterical if I lost them.

I'm happy to hear your cat was just playing hide and seek!

Aww, I'm glad Lucky wasn't actually missing!
Was he stuck in the spot?? How did he not hear your guys yelling for him & shaking his treats?

Aw so glad that he was ok!! I have 3 cats and 2 dogs and the youngest cat Mr. Pickles escapes a lot but we usually catch him. 2 months ago he got out and was missing all day long, we searched and searched. We live close to the parkway and down the block from merrick road so I was nervous he'd get hit. It was my FH birthday so we had to go out to his mothers to eat but when we got back at 11:00 pm we went down the block with cat food again and we heard his little bell on his collar jingle and we found him in my neighbors bushes 3 houses down! I thought he would be so far away by then and was so relieved to have him back safe and sound.

So glad! Furbabies are the most mischievous. My furbaby did that once and I couldn't find him for a whole day. When I found him, I promptly flipped out on him and them hugged him and checked him for cuts and any booboos.

LOL

aww i don't have any pets of my own, but i would be exactly the same way. i even start to freak out if we go to the FIL's house and their cat runs out the door - she's so cute and old, but she's been known to go missing for days. i plan on spoiling my future puppy so much he'll never leave me....kinda like what i do with FH

No he wasnt stuck. I think he was just hiding because theres been lots of noise going on in the apt above us bcuz they are fixing it up. Plus wrkrs have had to come in my apt a cpl of times to access the fuse boxes and water (I live in a bsmt apt) and they get so scared and nervous. So they have been hiding a lot the past few days. But hes NEVER not come out when I call him.. esp shaking the treats. Thats why I thought he got outside some how.

OMG id die if my cats ran out! I never let them outside. Id be too worried they'd get lost or hurt.

That's the worst feeling! My son's dog has escaped more than once, so I know how you feel. So glad the crisis was averted!

Lol.. I yelled at him after I finally stopped crying. I scared him when I picked him up cuz I was crying so loud. So after, he was sitting on my bed and I pushed him and told him how could he scare me like that?! Badboy! Then I hugged him and gave him a million kisses lol

LOL Exactly! I started thinking I needed to make like a pet carrier lure. LOL FH thought I was trying to catch a stray animal! I was so unintelligible because I was worried something horrible happened to him since he was so small and quiet :(

Looking back all I can do is give our furbaby the death stare and laugh because he is just that : a furbaby LOL. I wonder how I'm going to survive my actual kids

Awww so glad Lucky wasn't lost. Brodie does that to me all the time and each time it's like my heart stops. There are way too many hiding spots in this house (and now he goes upstairs which he never used to)
