NWR: Hair
Alright. So... last march I shaved my head for St. Baldricks. Its grown back quite a bit and SUPER thick... but right now I don't know what to do with it. Its at a semi-awkward stage and I'm not sure if I should trim it now... wait a little bit longer and get it trimmed and shaped right before my engagement party in June.Click here to see where my hair is at now. I typically just pull my bangs back with a clip and be annoyed with it all day. I also feel like one side always does exactly what I want it to do.. and the other said is like... 'hahahahaaa.. eff you. i do what i want!'
any tips? anything that will maybe make it grow faster??

I hate that in-between stage! I cut my hair shorter so many times because I hated how awkward my hair was. I could be crazy, but my hair has NEVER been so healthy since I started using Neutrogena Triple Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner, and I put my hair through hell every day. (Blow dry, straighten, and sometimes even straighten again later or curl) My hair has grown about six inches since last year. I also get my hair micro-trimmed every 3 months. Good luck! :)

If you'd want to shape you're hair for June engagement party, I vote to get your hair trimmed now. It allows you to a) discuss options with your dresser about June b) if you're hair grows fast it will allow you to manage it right now.HTH

I'm afraid to use too much moisturizing shampoo because ever since my hair started growing in.. my hair has been super oily if I don't wash it every day. I switch on and off with using a clarifying shampoo with NO conditioner and then using a spray conditioner before styling... and then once a week I'll wash it with the pantene pro-v beautiful lengths shampoo and conditioner in one. In that picture I had only used the clarifying shampoo (Like... the suave cheap stuff) and just blew it out.Its also annoying because its SOOOO close for me to be able to just pull it up and go... and thats all I want to do. lol

Trimming it regularly actually makes hair grow faster.

I saw it in person, and I happen to think your hair cut and style are extremely flattering on you. I know it's annoying to have your hair feeling like it's at the awkward stage, but it doesn't LOOK like it is!!What about those Jessica Simpson clip in extensions? My BFF wore them for a few weddings we went to, and when put in properly, you can't even notice that they're in. That way you don't have to stress that your hair won't be grown in when you want it to be. And they don't have to be THAT long.

Thank you! I actually want to grow it out for the wedding and then so I can shave it again for st baldricks the march after the wedding. I typically keep my hair a little bit longer than it is right now but I want to have options for the wedding.
What's driving me crazy is all the layers!! I think I'll just be happier once I can pull it back.

I have to be honest, I clicked your picture and was thinking 'wth is she talking about?' I think your hair looks great! I'd wait till before the e-party if you really want a trim, only because anytime I've requested a trim they always take off more than I want and wouldn't want to risk that. Or maybe you could just trim the bands for now? Seriously though, your hair looks fabulous!EDIT: BANGS, not bands!

Katie, if you want it to look like it always looks, I'd get it trimmed now. My hair always looks weird for the first few weeks after i get a trim bc it's at the awkward 'just got cut so it's not the way I wanted it bc it has to grow out a little bit' stage.Simone, did you say you work at salon pop? What days do you work? I'm desperate for a haircut and dont want to go back to the place I used to go to bc they botched my ombré dye job. My boss goes to salon pop, and has said a lot of good things!
