I posted this on BHB and got a couple of nice responses, but it ocurred to me that I'd feel more comfortable getting recommendations from people I knew a little better. Any ideas? I wanna be pretty for our GTG later!
So, last summer, my hairdresser moved to Australia on me - I've been using him forever and would have followed him anywhere. He recommeded a girl for me to go to, and I went in October and it was awful - it's FINALLY grown out and I'm ready to try again.
I'm feeling a major haircutting bug today and am going to be out on Long Island for the GTG - does anyone have any recommendations for someone in Nassau or not-too-far-out Suffolk? Someone that might be free this afternoon? TIA.

Awww thanks Kim! I don't know if you remember, but I actually cried after my haircut in October. I NEVER cry about things like that but, oh boy, this style was a nightmare to maintain.

I started going to her - she's great!!!!! I have my hair colored and trimmed by good ole Kim's sis. She's a sweetie!

Hey Dava - I go to Dakotah Salon & Spa - Liz cuts my hair and I love her!! She's even doing mine for my wedding!!

A bit pricey I think but worth the money. (50-60 - but I don't go as often as I should!)

Thanks everyone! I'm still not sure what I'm doing yet because I'm getting out of the house a lot later than I'd planned (surprise, surprise...) but I still might call somewhere for an appointment. I don't know. Normally I'm 'whatever' about my hair, I just put int back in a ponytail pretty often anyway, but I think my last experience at a new salon scared me!
