NWR: Has anyone ever been to...

Old Saybrook, CT? FH and I booked there for July 4th weekend (our dating anniversary). Just wondering if anyone has been to that area and can recommend fun stuff to do?

TIA!

My mom has a house there!!!!!!

Not sure what to do really though bc we usually go to hibernate and go to the neighborhood beach......

hmmmmm... I know there's some sort of a parade for the 4th. and My bro will most likely be shooting off some CRAZY fireworks at either the beach or the house. Apparently last year, it was a sick show!!!!!

I can ask my sister (she does more of the 'touristy' stuff, whereas I'd just like to stay in)

BUT it is GORGEOUS there!!!!! and I know the outlets are right near there (exits 62 and 65 off of 95)

Where are you staying there? Did you rent a little house for the weekend or in a hotel?

lmao, I was just there this weekend for a friends wedding.

um, the town is pretty small and quiet. there is a place where you can rent a motorized parasail kinda thing and fly over the li sound. I wanted to do that, but we didn't have time.

i think this is the link

um, there's also a zoo off exit 29 (i think) off the i-95.. so its on the way.

great bar about 45 min away- mcguires bar they have an indoor slide and their drinks are cheap.

thats about it.. we usually go up to see my friend. where are you staying?
