I keep candles on the back of my stove, and I'm such an a$$ b/c I forgot to take them down when I used the oven last night. Needless to say, they melted ALL OVER my stove top. How can I get this off w/out possibly scraping away the white finish? Its a new stove

Reheating wax is always the best way to remove it. Bake some cupcakes or brownies..it'll heat up the top of the oven and you should be able to use a plastic spoon or wooden spoon to remove it. Don't say you're dumb! I hear some people say that on here sometimes and I guess as a teacher it makes me upset You had a brain-fart if anything lol

Aw, and my candles were so cute too! They were little oranges in a little wooden crate. I'm going to try both of these ideas. I have an angel food cake pan that needs to be christened.

A hot hair dryer will also work to reheat the wax.

I was going to suggest the plastic spoon- or if you have a plastic pastry scraper..

I saw something with martha stewart once where she used an iron on the low setting with a piece of newspaper between the iron and the wax. The newspaper supposedly soaks up the wax as it melts.
good luck!

yes, def try to reheat it! a hair dryer may not get it hot enough. i think if you heat the oven up again that might work easier. good luck!!!
