I got all 4 out at once. I was out of it that whole day. I was told to alternate the ice pack between the different cheeks every 15 minutes. It really helped having my FH there to turn me over and alternate the ice pack. I was so out of it and slept the whole day.

My sis just had this done. the ice thing really really helps. She was fine until she stopped doing the ice (about 4 hours before she was supposed the crazy girl). Also, make sure you have enough water and extra gauze.

I had all four out at once too. Have some soft food for you ready at home for the first day or so. The procedure itself was nothing - I was completely knocked out for it, no pain at all. The only thing that I wish they had told me is that there would be some bleeding (just a little) afterwards. I wasn't prepared for it and it freaked me out a bit!

I had all 4 done at once it really wasnt that bad. Get yourself some applesause and banana's and stuff like that so you can eat. I get sick from anthesisa (?) so that was the worst part for me but even that wasnt that bad.

wow...owie! Make sure you take the pain meds before the anesthesia wears off! And take it on schedule...have FH wake you up to take them, otherwise it will take longer for it to kick in...

I had all 4 done at once too. Bottom two were impacted so they really needed to dig them out. The doc gave me liquid valium to knock me out for the event, then tylenol #3 and vicodin for afterwards.
All I can say is ice and drugs.

Ack! No fun at all! Good luck with it... when I got mine done (all four at once, severely impacted, allergic to codeine) I got one of those gel face masks. You can put it in the fridge or in the freezer -- the cold feeling lasts a while and the mask, since it's a gel, conforms to the shape of your face. Also, stock up on mushy, soft foods and soup!![]()

thansk guys! i am so scared.... hopefully it wont be so bad, i really worried waking up after the antescia... like not knowing whats gonna happen, i'm not worried about the pain i had my tonsils out about 1 year ago and it was the worst experience of my life... so i wont be anywhere near that bad.

have someone go with you, lots of liquid, don't push yourself to do too much too soon....I made myself very run down and tired...but I didn't feel the need for the Vicodin

Don't make any plans for the weekend! I got 1 out a couple years ago, and the one side of my face was swollen until Sunday night when I had done it on the Friday morning. In a few weeks, I'll be getting two out.

I had all four done at once...one word VICADIN (sp?) WOW! Those drugs really made a difference! Just know that your whole mouth will double in size ( i didn't even recognize myself)

have your DR give you pain killer RX 'prior' to operation so they are filled and ready for you to take afterwards.
Plus placing tea bags in your mouth helps stop bleading (something in the tea helps clot)

lots of ice packs!! make sure you get the medication before you go home. ESPECIALLY THE PAIN MEDICATION!!! you will defitinely need it and your face is going to swell up. you'll be out of work for at least a week. good luck.![]()
