I'm putting together my rank list for my residency for next year and I need some input on where to rank certain cities, especially if you have lived in any of the places. All the hospitals seem about the same, so if you have an opinion about the city it would be greatly apprecitaed:
Stoneybrook, NY (Stoneybrook) Mineola, NY (Winthrop) NYC (St. Luke's/Rosevelt, subsidized housing in by the hospital) Camden, New Jersey (Robert Wood Johnson) Memphis, Tennesse (University of Tennesse) Nofolk, Virginia (Eastern Virginia Medical College) Augusta, Georgia (Medical College of Georgia) Savannah, Georgia (Mercer) Jacksonville, Florida Gainesville, Florida Tampa, Florida Miami, Florida

Re: NWR: Help me figure out where to live next year!
I went to College right across the street from St. Lukes on 58st for 4 years, there are TONS of (in my opinion) immature college students running around that area b/c it is a CUNY college that has an enrollment of >10,000 students a semester and down the block is like 2 other colleges (Fordam and NYIT i believe). I personally wouldn't want to live around there, but love to just go there...it depends on how you feel. There are lots of good places to eat!!!! Lincoln Center is only a few blocks north and the subway systems are right there as well. (A,C,E, 1, 9??) There is also the new AOL time warner building that has an amazing Whole Foods grocery store in the basement and I've run into many famous people who stay there, but it is very expensive area

You have to ask yourself what you are both looking for in a place to live....Sush as are you city or country people, is the goal to rasie a family there, can fh get a job easly and so on. My best friend is a nurse in the airforceand she spent 3 years in Nofolk, she worked on base at the hospital. I have been there many times the area very military you have navy, airforce, and mirinies. The sournding areas are lower middle class. All through it is not to far from VA bEACH. There is a lot of traffic in the area. The cost of living in surrounding areas is inexpensive. My best friend attended hampton college and was not not so crazy about it. It is a very pretty area with the water surrounding and there is a local Nofolk airport which is convient and not so crowded. I hope this helps.

I've never lived in Memphis, but I have a good friend that lived there for the past 8 years and loved it. He just recently came back to NY because he was able to get a job making more money here in NY.
