NWR: How does this make sense???

NWR: How does this make sense???

I just called Toyota to schedule my 3,000 mile maintenance and to have the car checked after hearing about the recall.

Well the woman told me they can't check the car for the recall until I get a letter in the mail saying it needs to be checked. I asked when the letters would be going out, and she told me next month

interesting

just fuss about it when you take the car in and say 'well let's hope my gas petal doesn't get stuck or a certain dealership will have a pretty hefty lawsuit on their hands'

call toyota's main line (not your dealer) ... they might be able to help you ....

UGH. That's real nice. Car companies are sick though. Sometimes they find the lawsuits that they'll face are less costly than repairs and recalls and just let a major malfunction like that one go. It's outrageous.

i'd tell them to expedite the letter in an overnight package cuz you'll be there w the car tomorrow.

Do you have a Camry?

I got a notice about a recall as well - the floormats were bad so the gas pedal would get stuck.

Then it said something 'please remove your floormat and look out for what to do next.' (not really those words, but that general gist).

That was like 1-2 months ago and now...crickets. I even brought it in last week and no one said anything to me about it, nor did they remove the floormat!

So insane! *** is going on Toyota?

No, it's a Rav4. This is a new recall, just released today. It's different than the floormats one.

Yeah, that's the same thing with my dad's car. So apparently they don't care if ppl get into accidents between now and the time you get a letter.
