Re: NWR: How fast does hair grow back?
I think it depends on how you react to the chemo.. But there are so many places today that make wigs that are made of real hair and do not look fake at all. The important thing is that you get healthy ,your FH with think you are beautiful on your wedding day no matter what.

Re: NWR: How fast does hair grow back?
I'm sorry to hear that. I don't have personal experience with hair loss while enduring chemo treatments but my aunt did. Her hair grew back pretty fast actually. She went to a stylist when she started to get thin and they helped a ton! She had a really cute short style for a bit. I also read somewhere that your hair grows about 1/2 an inch a month. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I hate to post about something so grim and I know it sounds stupid but the thought of not having my own hair on my wedding day upsets me more than anything...i guess i also just can't picture a wig looking real but it is good to hear that there are really good ones

Re: NWR: How fast does hair grow back?
i wish you well and hope you have a speedy recovery. My hairstylist actually suggested this stuff called biotin that you can pick up at GNC, supposedly it makes your hair grow super fast.

First, I wish you the best of luck. Be strong, you can do it!! Second, if you haven't started treatment yet, get to a wig shop ASAP and show them your hair. If you want, you'll be able to purchase something that is very close to your own hair color and style. It helps the shops to see you first. My Aunt did this and although she has completely lost all of her 'natural' hair, no one knows because the wig she bought is so close to her natural (well dyed) style. She claims the wig is HERS because she paid for it. What a spirit!! Again, best of luck, stay strong and we are all here for you.

Sorry to hear this....hope everything works out for you.
As for the hair, everyone is right, there are definitely wigs that look real. Also I've heard of the biotin as well. FBIL just started using this because he has a really bad receiting hair line and he's only 23.

Re: NWR: How fast does hair grow back?
first off, good luck.
secondly, maybe you can go to your hair stylist and have them cut your hair short. then take your hair and have a wig made. have extensions added in & will the technically be your own hair.

Re: NWR: How fast does hair grow back?
I just went to Wig Allure in Massapequa mall with my girlfriend this weekend who is going through the same thing. They're very helpful there. FM me if you have any questions.
Hang in there!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: NWR: How fast does hair grow back?
So sorry to hear that you have to go through this I wish you all the best and a speedy recovery
It all depends, FH's mom went through chemo last year and lost all of her hair and it all grew back after about 4 months
When I was about 10 my mom went through chemo and never lost any of her hair, so you never really know how your body is going to react to the treatments

1/2 inch a month also try Nioxin line. I heard it's great.
Lots of brides wear extensions for fullness on their day. Hell, famous people everyday!

sorry to hear, hope everything goes well for you
there are definitely other options avaiable for you like the other girls mentioned... as for your own hair it really depends on you, though you can take certain natural vitamins (i think its E?) to speed it up a little
