NWR: How long does it take for novacaine to wear off.

I got home from the dentist over and hour ago and my mouth is still numb? Just curious how long it takes to be back to normal.

im working right at this moment for a dentist and it takes about 2 1/2 to 4 hours for it to wear off

yep, it was about 3 for me to completely become normal.... the bulk of the numbness was gone in about 2... (could drink again...)

I HATE being numb like that. My dentist thinks I'm wierd, but if he's doing some minor procedure that hurts only a bit, I tell him to nix the drugs. He thinks I'm nuts, but I hate the numbness more...

If you wake up in the morning and it is still numb, call your doctor. I had my wisdom tooth removed a few years back and I was numb that night and called the doctor the next morning. As it turns out, my nerve was damaged.
