nwr: how many of you have land-line phones in your apartments?
Original post by GiannisWifey
I am trying to figure out if its worth it to get one. I called verizon - it will cost about $55 for unlimited local, regional calls (anywhere in the us) which we dont need since we would only use it to call the 5 boroughs ............ so getting just that would be $40....
is it even worth getting a landline since we both obviously have cell phones/
ETA: We get wireless/internet and cable for free - included ....... our landlord pays for it. so we can't get a triple play or anything that combines all 3 since we don't pay for the other 2

We have a landline with our Verizon package. Even though we do not use it much I cannot go without it in case of emergencies.

We have a landline. When I'm home I don't like to use my cell phone PLUS DH and I are on a shared cell phone plan so we share the minutes. A landline works better for us. He pays the bill so I can't help with the cost, sorry.
PLUS, if there was ever another day (G-d forbid) like 9/11 landlines worked more then cell phones did.

We don't always get the best cell phone reception where we live and my phone is always dead cuz I forget to put it on the charger. We have Verizon's triple play package (or whatever Verizon calls it!). I always use my home phone #.
