nwr: how many of you have land-line phones in your apartments?
I am trying to figure out if its worth it to get one. I called verizon - it will cost about $55 for unlimited local, regional calls (anywhere in the us) which we dont need since we would only use it to call the 5 boroughs ............ so getting just that would be $40....
is it even worth getting a landline since we both obviously have cell phones/
ETA: We get wireless/internet and cable for free - included ....... our landlord pays for it. so we can't get a triple play or anything that combines all 3 since we don't pay for the other 2

we do it worked out w/the triple play deal....
we barely use it.. i dont even know my house # lol

i got the landline that works during black outs. during 911 and the big black out in 2002(2003?) my cell phone didnt work & my whole family freaked out since im the only one who doesnt live on LI.

i have one only because of the triple play deal ... it comes to an extra $5 a month so why not. i rarely ever use it.
in your case, i prob wouldn't get it.

we have land line cause we have a triple play. we dont use it much, but its nice when my mom calls from israel and I am not struggling w/reception issues (sometimes my phone doesnt have ANY reception in the apt)

We do with the triple play... and I have the house phone forwarded to my cell phone... (God Forbid I miss a call )

We had one when we had the triple play but cancelled it. We never used it. I wouldn't spend the money.

i have the triple play- i rather talk on the house phone when i am home- its much easier then the cell phone especially when doing chores around the house.

We have a landline in the house because we have the triple play, but we hardly ever use that phone and I don't even know the number

I do since we had the Time Warner Triple Play. After the price changed, I called to cancel it and the guy gave it to me for 2 more years for free the first year and then like $10 a month for the 2nd year. I said fine, we'll keep it.

we have a landline at our house.. DH didn't want it, but it was cheaper with the tripleplay then doing it without.

land line whats that!
I havent had a land line in about 10 years
my parents still do but no one ever calls them on it. i guess its security reasons, with our house alarm you have to have a land line
