See ya later scumbag. I cannot get over how anyone, especially females, can like this guy. He mocks women and basically destroys any respect we have fought for. See ya later you scumbag and take your feeble minded fans with you

wow...bitter words!! i just don't get how you say he mocks women. i've heard that argument before and i don't get it...does he put porn stars and some not-so-bright girls and such on his show? sure. but intelligent women like us who listen to his show...know that he puts those kind of women on to make us laugh at them. we get the joke!!

i think he's vulgar, adult humor and he makes fun of EVERYONE...women, men, young, old, black, white, hispanic, skinny, fat...etc. etc. the point is that we all laugh at the silliness and craziness....that's the point of it all.... i think people just need to lighten up. we've become such a P.C. society; and i cheer Stern for going against the norm!!

Extremely well said MJDoc! Howard is so real... he tells it like it is. Love that. FH got me sirius for xmas and gave it to me early! If you don't have it yet, get it... it's so awesome. I'm so excited for Jan 16th!!!!!!!!!!!

Oil and Vinegar and Vinaigrette are SO SO not the same: I agree!!! I wanted to shout at the radio when they were arguing about that!

I wanted to scream through the radio too... SO not the same thing.

It's funny to see how when asking for 'vinaigrette' it's automatically turned into 'Oil and vinegar'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ME! I'm going to go through withdrawals until he comes on satellite in January. Hubby and I got Sirius for ourselves for Christmas
We should name some of our favorite Howard moments. 2 of mine: the Beetlejuice song and Gary shooing away the 'retarded flu.'

Favorite Moment:

For me, it was a recent one....when Tom Giasano was in the hospital after he passed out on the golf course and the guys call up the hospital pranking him!

I almost got an accident hearing it!

My favorite moment was Artie's story about doing coke while in a pig suit for a MAD tv sketch. Hysterical!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU! That is another favorite of mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope that if they're doing best of shows till 12/31 that we get to hear that one more time.

I'm going to miss him in the mornings...we already have XM so I didn't see the point in getting, and paying for, a second satelite system.

Re: NWR: Howard Stern

I was expecting at least one person to flame Howard - thats what he's all about -

I'm embarassed I began this thread, but stumped at my favorite show!!!

I always love when he has Gilbert Godfried on, although I don't like Gilbert otherwise - he is hysterical on the show - esp. when Robin does the news, and he is cracking jokes and making everyone laugh so hard they can't even speak...

I liked when he made that guy say that dumb joke over and over again, and I love their wack-pack songs...

I love Howard and I work with about 5 other women who love him too. I think if you don't listen to him every day you just don't understand. Everyone just assumes he's raunchy. I already got my Sirius unit. Can't wait.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but why go on a thread an insult people who are obviously fans of his? I don't normally have access to the radio in the morning, but I listen to Howard when DH drives me to the train station. I usually want to hear b/c it's so funny. I don't take things he says seriously. It's all in good fun. DH is a big fan. He's one of the most intelligent people I've ever met. I certainly don't consider him or anyone else any less intelligent b/c they listen to Howard.

ETA: Howard spent his last year or two of high school at my high school. His parents live (or at least used to live) a couple of blocks from my family. I'd never be embarassed to say he was from my town.

Hey, a fellow SSHS-er! I think Howard is great and I will miss the show. I live on the west coast and get the 3 hour delayed show, but one morning he was talking about one of SSHS's math teachers and I wanted to call in so badly, but, the actual conversation was really 3 hours old. I tell people we graduated from the same HS all the time!

Wow, what a hater!
I COULD say that I think the woodbury CC is ugly and anyone who gets married there would be brain dead or STUPID!!! (luckily I don't think that)...point is IF I did I would keep it to MYSELF cause NEGATIVITY is an UGLY trait.

Future advice...
Keep you negative opinions and attitudes and check em at the door. opinions are like A holes....everyone's get em and unforunatly only the negative a holes voice em.

Re: NWR: Howard Stern

Ok, seriously though. He doesn't just say toilet humor, the things he says are disturbing. The way he treats people freaks me out. On various episodes of E, he has had women with five vibrators put up them by disgusting men, women holding coins up their asses, while they run around naked trying to land them in a goal, he throws things at naked women and then a whole goup of men laugh. That is the most degrading thing of all... these men all mock and degrade these women's bodies, and everyone sits around and laughs like this is the greatest thing. Just because woman allow themselves to be degraded and mocked does not mean that it is not degrading and abusive. He also has men bring their neices or sisters in to strip for game shows. I honestly do not know how a woman could watch that show without feeling sick, or hearing those things go on over the radio. I don't believe it's ok to mock or degrade anyone, even if they allow it. He always talks to the porn stars about their sexual abuse stories, which lef them to porn. Disgusting.

Re: NWR: Howard Stern

I think you can't really judge the show solely by what they show on E. They purposefully choose the most outrageous bits for the E show.

Yes, some of the stuff is over-the-top, but most of the radio show focuses on tamer, and in my opinion, even funnier things. He and his crew are the only morning talk personalities who don't pretend to be perky in the morning. They vent, rant and rave, and bicker like the real people they are. I can't stand the sickeningly saccharine-sweet morning jocks on other stations.

Of course, some of Howard's material is 'offensive,' but 'offensive' is a subjective term. Most humor pushes the envelope. People need to find their own comfort level when choosing what programming to watch. If you don't like it, change the channel. It's that simple.

As for me, I don't have a problem with the bits that involve women who choose to degrade themselves. If they are of age, it's their prerogative. What makes me uncomfortable is when he puts mentally challenged people in potentially embarrassing situations. That stuff makes me wince and usually prompts me to surf channels for a while and then check back in when it's over. But that's okay. Thanks to the framers of the Constitution, it's his right to say what he wants, and it's my right to tune it out.
