NWR- HPV vaccine Gyno recommendations

/hi. I want to get the HPV vaccine but my doctor and a few of the others close by do not offer it I'm turning 25 next month and need to make an appointment ASAP. I headr that insurance won't cover it after the age of 25. Can anyone recommend their gyno who offers the vaccine???? I'm in Queens. I would prefer Queens but I'm willing to go into Nassau as well. Thanks!!!

I also wanted to get the HPV vaccine but my gyno told me no because I'm not a virgin I might have already been exposed to the virus & it cleared up on it's own. So if I did get the vaccine it could make the virus come out & make me sick. My doctor also said they are trying to make the vaccine just for newborns.

i am not a doctor but i have never heard of that - i got the shot and so did many of my friends ( as far as i know none of them are virgins)

there are many different strains of HPV so even if you had one kind you can still protect against another kind

This is from the Gardasil website:

'If you've already been infected with HPV, you may still benefit from GARDASIL because it is unlikely that you have been infected with all 4 types of the virus covered by the vaccine. Your doctor or healthcare professional can help you understand more.'

it is also not a live virus so it cant make you sick through the vaccination. . .

you can get more information from the gardasil website or webmd

Also - my GYN is in Lindenwood (Howard Beach)
Women's health Pavilion
82-12 161st Ave

i like all the doctors there - actually i am going Monday for my second shot!

My doctor said that people who have had multiple partners are more at risk to exposure. He also said if you use protection all the time and have had a monogamous relationship that your risk is low and don't really need it.

I've never been infected with any of the viruses it's just what my doctor told me. Also she said if I don't plan on sleeping with anybody else I shouldn't worry about it.

it is very true that if you have only one partner you have less of a chance

My FH and I are eachothers first and onlys

but i can only be 110% sure what I am doing in my spare time. . . that sounds cynical but i would rather protect myself
