So a little background- One of my very best friends is this girl Lisa and her boyfriend is a guy named Frank. I went to HIgh school with frank and we are all a close bunch.
Now today is Frank's Bday...now yesterday morning we all get a text saying that he got this great deal and its only 50pp for a party bus to the city, lounge admission to a great place, and bottle service. Great price right? Well we were really excited to go!! We were aware of teh weather but I kept saying we will go blah blah... Now I just took a nap and woke up like an hour ago to FH going, 'Jenn, we are not going to the city tonight, the roads are terrible.' We called the bday boy and left a message telling him we will take him out to dinner blah blah...and then I called my friend Lisa (the bday boy's girlfriend),,,she was not happy that we were cancelling and was very standoffish. I apologized and told her that I hope that she understands. Well I then sent her a text again stating that I hope she understands...she writes back saying that she feels bad for him bc its his 30th and people are giving him a hard time...
Thing is this... This happened an hour ago and I still feel bad, but I think that FH is right... roads are bad and people should bot be going out tonight... and he only planned this YESTERDAY,...
Should I just let it go... or should we have gone? I feel really bad

No the roads are bad, just driving home from Massapequa was nerve wracking, being on a party bus all the way to the city would probably not be a good idea.
Really??? OK phewwwwww...Im glas you are home safe

It is not your fault the roads are bad.

I definitely would not have gone out last night. Plus, its not like this was planned for weeks and weeks. I'm sure they were a little peeved because I bet a lot of people were cancelling due to weather. As long as you do something else for him (like take him out to dinner as you said) then they shouldnt stay mad.

Your friend should totally be understanding about this--did she see the weather outside? I'm sorry but it's a risk putting your lives in the hands of a stranger driving a party bus on a night with terrible weather.
I'm sure she will get over it but you are not a bad friend at all!

it sounds like she was more mad at the situation than at you.

You should not feel bad in any way... think of the flip side- what if youwould have gone out to not dissapoint and something would have happened.. i mean its snowing and its bad outside... like an accident... doesnt matter whose fault... if someone would have gotten hurt... then youall would have felt bad -b/c you could have and should have satayed home... Im just saying...
Dont feel bad... its normal to feel that way though and its normal that your friend would kinda give youa hard time ...or make you feel bad.... shes looking at it from a different perspective and its understandable!
