I did it!!! I've been an admin assistant for 5 years and I'M DONE!!! I've posted a couple of times that i'm a part time pastry chef...well...I just got a job in Manhattan as a lead pastry cook for a NEW restaurant that's opening next month. I accepted the offer today. I can't even DESCRIBE the feelings i have!! I'm insanely happy, in shock, and terrified at the same time. ![]()
The part that scares the H*LL out of me the most is i'm now making half my salary *EEK!*...and with the wedding coming up it's a little scary, but there was no way that I could pass this opportunity up. This is a HUGE thing that really just fell in my lap. But FH is totally supportive....and money doesn't mean a thing because i'm FINALLY living my dream job. I gave my notice on Friday - my boss is SO happy for me (I love the HECK out of my boss, he is SO wonderful)...and in two weeks I'll be getting paid to do what i love. Oh my GOSH!!!! ![]()

Thank you SO much everyone! Your wonderful messages have helped me relax a bit and have gotten me THAT much more excited about this.
This restaurant job is a bit off the wedding cake track I wanted, but perhaps this'll be a means to an end. :) We shall see.

Congrats!! Thats awesome!! I know what the industry is like and how hard it is to get a break like that. FH graduates in June from culinary school, and he's been working in restaurants for the last 3 years. So Congrats!! What an amazing opportunity!![]()
