In PA you need a 3.0 undergrad GPA to be certified. Mine was just under that. When I first started taking these certification tests here, that was not the case, but, the rules have changed. I called the state yesterday and they told me that I have to take 12 graduate credits in order to become certified, to prove that I can get a GPA over 3.0. I was planning on waiting until after the wedding to start. This just stinks.

I went to St. Joe's for undergrad, and it is hard, and one of the best education schools there is. I could have chosen another school with an easier program, but, I chose this one. I feel like I am being punished for my choice. Basically you can go to Harvard, or you can go to (insert any college that is easier) and it doesn't matter, you just need a 3.0.

So, after doing some research yesterday, I found a college that is local, that offers a fast track MS in Reading. The classes are held at a local High School. Each class is 7 weeks long, meets every Thursday from 4:30 - 9:30.... 12 classes, 36 credits. Your last summer is your practicum, and I'd have to do that in Philadelphia, which isn't too bad, a 40ish minute car or train ride. The total cost of this is just over 15k.

So, to my girls with masters degrees already, does this sound good?
