NWR: I think I am allergic to Champagne. UPDATE from my loving FH!
This is crushing news, as I love me some bubbly.
However, I've felt sick after having it three times in the past few months.
First was the 2010 Shower. I had a few mimosas and felt really really queasy afterwards. (I usually don't get like that at all...I'm definitely not a lightweight drinker). I chalked it all up to how quite a few girls reported those symptoms and maybe it was something in the food.
Then when I was in Philly for the Pearl Jam shows, I had three mimosas on the day we were set to drive back to NYC. But this was three mimosas stretched out from about 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. And food in between. Got really sick afterwards, aches and pains and fever, nausea. Chalked it up to hearing that almost everyone I know that went to the PJ shows ended up sick.
Last Friday was our company's holiday party and I had a couple of glasses of the bubbly stuff. Next day, nausea, aches and pains. Still suffering from it.
Just looked online and apparently it's kind of common. I think that's the culprit. Everytime I've felt queasy/nauseous lately, it's post-Champagne consumption. Boo. And no, I'm not preggo. Just went to the gyno last week and they always make me pee in a cup.
