Congrats! Take it day by day, every day is a big step... You will love yourself for it down the road.... I'm 2 yrs 5 months smoke free now, and FH is about a 1 1/2 yrs smoke free.... I know how hard it is now, but down the road you'll be thankful of the decision. Keep up the good work.
The real problem is drinking. I like to drink on Saturdays with my friends and I jsut cannot see myself drinking and not smoking. For those of you who quit, was that part really hard?

YAYA Diane..that is awesome..its a hard hard road..i quit the first time for 3 years and the second and third time for 6 months each..the times I went back to smoking was because I thought i could have just one with a drink and that didnt work..that is the hardest part for me...but i drink a lot of water and eat tootsie pops and it helps..also nicorette gum is the bestest

You can do it! I was a pack a day smoker and I am smoke free for 4 years now! If I can do it anyone can. Stick with it! Just think of all the money you are saving!
Are you using the patch? Thats what I did. It helped alot. I also chewed ALOT of gum.

Yes. I actually stopped drinking and going out to bars for a while. More $$ saved! Even now, if I drink enough I crave a cigarette.
I smoked about 1/2 a pack a day for 12 years. I was smoking Marlboro Ultra Lights for about a year thinking it was better for me Then I smoked a pack of Quest cigs, level 2 with like .03 grams (or however its measured) of nicotine. DH had a pack of the level 3 ones with no nicotine and he slipped some into my pack without me knowing and I smoked them and didnt know the difference so thats what made me go cold turkey.
how about taking a fake cigarette (they sell bubble gum shaped ones) if you get the urge - pull it out and then lol since it is a piece of gum. Put it away and concure your next craving.

FH and I are on 4 months now! Get the inhaler if it really bothers you to be out. Worked for us... Good luck and good times. Just keep saying if I haven't for ___ long then why go back now?
