Just wanted to share our house progress. I've stopped wedding planning to get this house ready and we've come a LONG WAY! We've been busted our butts off fixing up the house that we purchased. We got the keys on 2/1 and we've made so much progress.
The FH is an accountant and I'm in the business field too, so we are very new at this DIY route (plus we are 24, so no experience!) We've done everything ourselves except the roof, upgrade the electric and some spackling. We work all day, then go to the house until 11pm. Weekends we are there for 13 hr shifts too! I can't wait to move in and sleep!
These people were PIGS! 4 of us spent over 12 hrs just scrubbing the dirt in the kitchen!

wow everything looks great! What was that black lumpy stuff in the bathroom demo picture? I couldnt figure it out!
It was moldly insultation (from a leak, we got a new roof since) and cement. All of our walls are plaster, not sheetrock (except the ones we've replaced). Plaster is great for heat and noise, but what a mess and a PITA to take out!

yay! looks like my new house, we just closed on our house a couple of months ago.we decided to gut the entire thing. i can sooo relate to what your going thru! we hope to be done renovating and moving in, in a few weeks! good luck

Congratulations! I can't believe all of the work you are doing yourselves! You can really see a difference in the pictures. You have made so much progress in such a short time! Keep us posted with your progress and new pics!
