I am not sure if anyone can help but does anyone know anything about independent schools. It is so hard to get a teachers job on Long Island and I was looking at a job for an independent school. How much does a teacher make at an independent school? Should I even bother to apply to one? I just need a teachers job so bad and I have my certification I just need to find a job now.

I don't know anything about that, I'm sorry. If you find out though, let me know because I graduate in May with my BSED in childhood ed.
Good luck!

If I find out anything I will let you know. All I know is they are private schools but I have no idea what the salary is.

Hmm, is an independent school a for-profit school?
Or a charter school?
I'm confused....

I guess it can be either. Not sure. It is an independent school which makes it private but I am not sure if they are for profit or charter.

Private school and charter school teachers generally make less than public school teachers. But it's a way to have teaching experience on your resume. I'd go for it.
