orthodontist said that by the wedding my teeth will be visibly straighter - they wont be complete but he said they will be much better.....they arent that bad now - its just i want a perfect smile so badly - and i dont want to be embarrased to smile on my wedding day! i always said there were two things i would change about myself - id want perfect teeth, and bigger boobs!

That's awesome...I'd love to get that too! I had braces when I was younger but over the years not wearing my retainer has made them shift a tiny bit! AND I really want to get them whitened! As for the boobs I'm ok in that department and waiting till I'm like 40 to get a LIFT!!!

i dont know if certain dentists/orthodontists are more money......right now i dont have the time to go on a bunch of consultations to get the best deal b/c my wedding is less than a year away....for me it ended up being crazy expensive - more than 5k but im doing a 15 month payment plan - it just ***** that i have this, the wedding, saving for a house, paying rent and bills, etc. etc. but FH knows that i really want to do it and he said the smile will last a lifetime (well, as long as i wear my retainer ) so he said to go for it and he'll help me pay for it.....yay! i just HATE having another bill on top of the wedding - its starting to get really stressful

Re: NWR: invisalign - im getting it!
I have to tell you, Invisalign is the best thing I ever did. I can show you a before and after for me if you like. My treatment was expensive because I need to fix both bottom and top for spaces/gaps. The dentist told me I would need them for 7 seven months. I am in my last 2 trays and I have to tell you it's awesome. I cant believe ALL my gaps are gone.
Just be prepared for the tightness the first 2 days of every tray. It really does not hurt, it's just more like a very very tight feeling on your teeth. The first tray will take some getting used to and you will be talking with a lisp. But it goes away after a while.
I never ever regretted spending the money to get these because my teeth are awesome now.
Good luck with them!! Stack up on Nutraments because when you change your trays every 2 weeks, the first 2 days you won't want to take them out. It hurts when you pull on it.

I would luv to get them but just don't have the $ yet...even w/ a payment plan.
BUT-------maybe good news for you--------- U may be able to write them off in your taxes if your health care expenses (including dental) total more than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. I only know this because I am desperately searching for tax credits on the IRS website.

I am really considering doing Lasik but don't want to because of the extra expense. But it's something I really really want to do!

I'm a dental student and I did invisalign when I first started school..only b/c I was still under my parents health plan (which had ortho!). The cost is pretty standard, dentists actually make very little $$$ and then only variables are by location (NY vs. midwest - guess which is cheaper!). Some general dentists also do invisalign, which might more convenient or comfortable if you have a long standing relationship with someone.
Never underestimate the power of bleaching!!! Not too often, and try to cut back on ALL non-water drinks. Yes, even diet sprite will dull your smile!

Re: NWR: invisalign - im getting it!
I have been wearing Invisalign for 18 months ( and I am done ). I had a HUGE gap between my front teeth. Let me tell you this: it was an exremely painful procedure for me. I was crying for the first 3 months from pain, and was about to quit, but the $$$$ I paid for it made me stronger I am glad I did not quit, since now that I am done, I have no gap and I looked beautiful at my wedding and was able to smile However, there are drawbacks ( as usual ). Just to mention one: you need to understand that the teeth are moving, and if they are cloming closer in one space, it means a space is created somewhere else FM me with questions
