ugh don't get me started on mine, apple is the root of all that is evil. Which one do you have, how many GB and how many songs on it right now?

if you use the shuffle option on your nano it'll show how many songs you have on the actual ipod, not just on itunes

Sorry I can't help you...I'm clueless with that stuff....I can't even getmine to shut off. I just leave it on till the battery runs out, then recharge it.

Its because typically you have hidden files on there that itunes can't read. I don't have a ipod so i dont know specifically. Macs run on trashing cans not delete buttons. SO typically on a mac you drag files into a trash can then delete the trash can to completely delete all files (its like a backup/safety) on a pc itunes i think doesn't reflect what is actually on the ipod due to different extensions that files are saved in.

Just look around on your ipod see what files you have on there that might be there just not popping up on your computer (like pictures, vids, etc).

I agree though with ipods as cool as they are its just as good getting at $50 mp3 player because if it breaks its not that hard to replace. I am a BIG MAC fan but just computers and possibly the IPhone when it comes out.

Do you have really long songs on there, spoken word (ie books or lectures?) It holds 500 songs if each song is less than 5 minutes long. Also, if you have photos etc. that takes up space as well.
