NWR- Is it true?

NWR- Is it true?

Is it true that if you are on BC and you want to conceive it may take up to 2yrs after stopping the pill to get pregnant??? My FH told me that his sis told him that her friend stopped BC and it took her 2yrs to get prenant and then she miscarried. I was a bit upset at this because he couldnt give me any more info on the girl..like, how old is she? what is her medical background? has she miscarried before? is this what her Dr. said, or is she assuming its due to the BC? In any case, Im curious to know your opinions on this matter..I heard that its not really true..that once you stop BC you can try to get pregnant...but Im just wondering what you girls know (especially those of you who are on BC)
TIA

It can take your body a while to start ovulating again, it all depends on how long. Everybody is different.

i'm pretty sure that you have to stop taking bc for a few months before you want to start 'trying', to get it out of your system .... and i think it can take a while to get pregnant too, especially if you've been on bc for a while. not sure about the 2 years though.

I do not believe it its true. This is what all doc tend to tell you, but my best friend got pregnant the first(!) time she had s@@@ after she got off the pill. Results are very individual

I don't think so,, I think it depends on the person, my frienf got prenant 4 months after she stopped taking the pills.

I don't think this is true. The BC pack even says to use an alternate form of BC if you miss more than three pills. You can definitely get pregnant shortly after stopping the pill.

i agree with the ladies above. For everyone it is very different. For some it can take up to two years for some 4 months or even 4 days. Everyones body reacts differently to it so It varies.

You should be off the pill for a good 3 months to try and start concieving. I really think you need to speak with your OB/Gyn about it. Every woman's body is different.

Not true.

I was on the pill and I was STILL on it when I got pregnant with my oldest son. 26 months later I had my second son.

That makes sense. I actually just spoke to my sis (who has been on the pill for a few years now)..and she said her Dr. said 3mths...but I understand everyone is different..but I just wanted to know what everyone else was told

CRAZY! I was just talking about this with FH last night! I know some ppl who waited LONGER than 2yrs to get PG but then again there are those girls that are ON bc and still get preggo...like that one bride above. I agree...everyone is different.

I believe the official statement is that it can take up to three months for your periods to normalize after you go off the pill, and then you should be able to get pregnant. But a lot of women get pregnant within a month. Everyone is different. This girl might have been on BC to regulate her periods, or who knows what issues she had. Going on hormonal birth control does NOT affect your future fertility. It's just not true. Don't let anyone scare you about that, it's the sort of crap that people who don't want women to be on birth control at all spread around to create fear. (And, yes, there are a lot of people who don't want women to have effective birth control.)

If you have questions, talk to a gynecologist, or go to a reputable medical website like WebMD and look up some answers.

I think every woman's body is different and takes different times to get it all out of your system.. I think its best to speak to your gyno about that.. That's what I plan on doing when it's time to conceive... I want the best advice I can get so that I can get preggo in the safest way possible.. does that make sense?
