Got to work this AM and called into the bosses office...I got laid off!! My whole department did.
We work in the mortgage industry and things have been really bad for a while. We knew it was going to happen, but of course I don't need this 3 weeks before the wedding!
Update: my manager just called and said all the people I worked with at the mortgage companies keep calling and emailing her asking for my contact info because they want to help me find a job!!

apparently the company was in dire straights financially- the owner was putting in his own $$ to pay us. He said he is working on giving us something..he'll let us know early next week. My parents have already said they'll help us out wih whatever we need, they are awesome!
Plus, I recently started selling avon, so that helps too.
Thats better than nothing! My old job gave me no notice and no $. And thats very nice and generous of your parents- especially with the wedding stuff going on. You are very lucky and Im sure a better job will come to you.

I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SORRY. My fh's brother was in the same situation about a year ago and found a job quite quickly, I hope the same happens for you!

thanks girls! I'm staying positive. I honestly believe that everything happens for a reason, so hopefully I'll figure out that reason between now and when we get back from the HM. I think that with my spare time, I may attempt some DIYs! I'm pretty relaxed about this, because we did get a heads up about it a month ago..just waiting and wondering when was torture! I've already made beach plans for next week with friends who are off.
Plus, I can now dedicate myself fulltime to LIW! haha
I'm sorry to hear about the bad news and relieved at your attitude. Having the extra time off before the wedding will be nothing but beneficial for you. Try to enjoy it and worry about finding a job after your honeymoon. Good Luck!

Dee, I would be FLIPPING OUT if I was laid off. So sorry to hear that! You have a great attitude though.
And michelle, did you post about this??????? Sorry for you too hon, you were always traveling for them too, that S U C K S big time.

I LOVE your attitude!! and its the right one to have!!! hey when you get back you can become a DOC :) :) it will ALL work out!! at least now its settled - no more worrying!!!
