NWR: Italian Restaurants in NYC

Heading into the city on Saturday for dinner & to see the tree.....any good recommendations for dinner? Preferably Italian food.

I'm going there Fri night to see the tree and do the window displays and I was also wondering if there were any cool restaurants in the area to eat at.

FH and I like tony's di napoli it is family style but it does get crowded since it is in time square. The also a good place by the tree I went two years ago but I can not remember the name. If I remember I will repost!

Scarpetta in the Meatpacking District - AMAZING but reservations can be hard to come by.

Carmine's or Tony's DiNapoli are always good especially if you're going with a group of people (b/c they're family style).

Carmine's! There's usually an insane wait but it's worth it!

I really love Il Bastardo on 7th Ave. And of course Carmine's!

If you're looking for family-style, Tony's DiNapoli and Carmine's are very good, the portions are big and deeeelicious!

Tony's DiNapoli: W43rd Street btwn 6&7th Ave
Carmine's: W44th Street btwn 7&8th Ave

You can also try:
Patsy's: W56th Street btwn 7&8th Ave
Becco: W46th Street btwn 8&9th Ave

lol they're pretty much around the same area.
Make sure you call for reservations! These places are always packed.

Cheap but GOOD italian food:

Lasagna
941 2nd Ave.
(Corner of 50th St.)

Big portions, awesome prices... the lasagna is good there, but they have TONS of other classic italian dishes.

Check out - Alfredos - it's across the street from the tree but you definitely need to make a reservation.
