NWR: Japanese straightening

For the girls who do this:
If you were to NOT keep up with it, does it grow out, or fade out?
Like, will I have straight hair, with curly roots, or eventually my hair will get curlier?

I know this is a weird ??, but I am notorious for not keeping up with my hair maintenance.

TIA!

Re: NWR: Japanese straightening

Your hair will grow out as it naturally does. If your hair grows in curly at the roots, it will grow out as it does, or less curly.

Re: NWR: Japanese straightening

I have, I got it over 2 years ago and my hair is still straight. As it grows in is grows in a little 'bushier', but not curly.

My friend has really thick curly hair and hers grows in bushier as well, with a little wave. She get it every 8 months or so.

Re: NWR: Japanese straightening

Japanese straightening is the best thing I EVER did. I have to go back every 8 months. I'm not getting it done RIGHT before my wedding, though, because - and I never thought I'd say this -my hair will be TOO straight.

My hair definitely grows in curly, but I can just blow dry that myself until it's time to go get it done again. Plus, as it does grow in, it gives your hair back a little volume. My hair looks best about 2 months AFTER I get it straightened.

Re: NWR: Japanese straightening

I have had it done the last 5 years and I love it. I skipped one year and it was fine. It was fuller at the root but it did not look wierd.

I use to go on Long Island but if you go in Queens it's so much cheaper.
