Well Hayato is only $250 so $500 might be a little much to pay.

Hair Village in Woodside. I paid 165 last time! I have to get mine done every 8 months, just because the roots grow in curly... but the hair that was already done always stays straight.

You just have to spend pretty much an ENTIRE day at this place... it's always packed. Last time, I was number 172! That means 171 girls... and guys... had their hair straightened before me. It's like an assembly line.

171 ppl before you!? I wont be able to wait that long for an appointment. Normally I just go to one in Chinatown on the weekend and they take me the same day as long as I go before 5pm because they do need 4 hours at least to do the straightening.

Got it done for $200. Most chinatown hair salon will do it. Just ask them the price because the texture and hair length makes a difference.

Oh, and as for how long it last, it's different for many people. It usuallly last anywhere from 6 months to 1.5 years depending on your hair's texture. For me it was 1.5 years 'cus my hair is pretty straight as is. It just gets frizzy at times so I had it done to avoid having to blow dry it everytime I wash my hair.

congratulations! Bring a book... or two... or three. lol. You might be better since you're going on a weekday... I usually go on Saturdays when it's SUPER busy. Please let me know if there's less of a wait on a Friday.

And be prepared, if you drive, to have to go out to feed the meter a bunch of times. (I think it's quarters). If you take the LIRR, get off at Woodside... it's right downstairs, a couple of blocks down. At least if you take the train, you don't have to keep feeding the meter. I usually take the train in, and my dad picks me up because he doesn't like me there alone when it's dark. Good luck!
