NWR: Jewelry making classes

Does anyone know where I can take classes or attend some kind of workshop to learn how to make jewelry? I really want to get into this just for my own personal hobby. I love to wear costume jewelry and would love to learn how to make my own. i have bought several books but it's a little confusing with some of the terminology that is used. I am truly a beginner at this and would like to get some face to face instruction.

TIA

Thank you!!! This is what i'm looking for. I checked out the site and it seems good because they supply you with the supplies that you will need.

Michael's offers classes in their stores (although I'm not sure if they have jewelry making classes). Also, try the library...I know my town's public library offers TONS of different classes or the Town of Hempstead (if you're a resident) offers various classes.

Eh.. it's sort of a commute, but FIT offers some nice jewelry night classes, I believe.
