What do we live for, if it is not to make life less difficult for each other? - George Eliot
If I may be frank....
Until just recently, and mostly because of this board, I have begun to open myself up to friendships with other women.
Ive been hurt and judged and dissapointed by female friends in the past but no longer want to be guarded.
We all know that drama occurs, especially between women from all types of backgrounds (and I am in no way speaking about any situation specifically)
Maybe we all just need to think for a second about what do we really want from life and from our friendships???
I can honestly say that I want a place to share my wedding problems, a place to give advice or a hug to someone in need, and a place where I dont need to check myself before I click 'add post'.
Maybe, just maybe, if you sense some drama being built up, think about how silly it is in the grand scheme of things. People suffer in this world and there are more important things in life besides our weddings.
Thank you. Jen

i loved when this place was drama free. but the one you are defending has done nothing but hurt ppl since she arrived. she may not have gotten you yet...but she will!

Re: NWR: Just a friendly thought
. i love EVERYONE. i just am opinionated and speak my mind and defend myself. some people take offense to that i guess. if someone calls me a name, you bet im not going to take it. standing up for yourself doesnt make you a b-tch. but it can be taken that way and i def stand up for myself, so i can see why ppl wouldnt like me. hopefully this thread will get pulled and the 05 board will live happily ever after.

Re: NWR: Just a friendly thought
This is my thought:
I really think there are some people on here who are not TRYING to start drama. They are just a little bit socially inept, immature, clueless about what is appropriate to say and post on a public forum. Yes, every one of us is free to state our opinions, but you cannot expect people not to react when you hit a sensitive nerve in a very brash way. Cluelessness is an unintentional personality flaw.
There are however, some very mean people on here. Meanness is born out of fear. Someone who is afraid is insecure.
At the end of it all, I know who I am and I am secure in myself. But I am not going to let someone get away with repeated personal attacks on me for no apparent reason.
and i do want to get back to planning my wedding....
This is a public forum. While it sucks to see people 'fighting' - it is all part of a forum. Believe it or not, the drama on here is minimal compared to some websites I have seen! They bleep out curses on here, and pull threads - many forums are totally unmonitored and get scary!
This IS a safe place, it's just filled with female hormones planning a wedding - if there was not conflict it would not be human.
Happy planning to all.

I totally agree. I think, there are certain people that should just be ingored. There are certain posts that don't even warrent a response. I say, we just ignore those who try to cause drama and just act as if it was never posted in the first place. We are here to plan weddings, not give our opinions on life!

Re: NWR: Just a friendly thought
I love this board and I wish we all could get along perfectly.
I really really really want us all to be supportive and friendly.
And if ignoring what someone says is what it takes, i agree. As for defending someones right to free speech, call me silly and old fashioned but that's what I'll do.
Im just trying to plan a wedding and have a good time here. Hugs all around

Re: NWR: Just a friendly thought
I go to the chats that are actually wedding planning related. I am pretty easy going and get along with a wide range of people. But LIW is here to assist me in planning my wedding and that is what I plan on using it to my full ability. And along the way, I hope to make a few wonderful friends. Truth be told, I will glance at a few threads and once they seem to become too involved with something where I have no knowledge of the subject - I usually sign off or search for something that will be helpful to me.
