Honestly, it's soooo painful!!! All I wanted was nice teeth for my wedding pics. So any of you girls that are thinking about doing it, be aware.... It's sooo much pain!

Did you ever have braces before? Braces hurt as well. Especially when you have the elastics tightened. I was thinking of doing Invisalign because I have one tooth that moved, and it bothers me. But, its not all that noticeable, and I'd rather spend the money on getting my teeth whitened.

I am just finishing my invisalign treatment and yes at the beginning they are very painful. I would take take 2 Advil and in a little while the pain would lessen. also, after the first day of changing the trays the pain is gone. You will feel some tenderness when eating when first changing the trays. But trust me it is SO WORTH IT!!!! I never thought my teeth would look so great for my wedding.

How long did it take to have your teeth straightend? I had braces so I'm familiar with the pain but I've heard that it takes much less time. Is that true?

The treatment itself was less than a year (so happy about that!!!!). They told me I was done with the treatment 2 weeks before the wedding..... I still have to wear my last tray until they put in the retainer (small bar attached to back of the teeth) on my bottom teeth but I will still have to wear my top tray for another year or so. Not too happy about that but it was so worth it.

Okay, so now I am a little worried. My Invisalign was ordered yesterday! For the money that it costs, you would think that would have figured out a way to make it less painful. Just curious, did your gums bleed at all? I am hoping that it will decrease my bad snacking habit b/c you have to take it out to eat and then brush your teeth everytime you eat or drink anything. I am also scared of it interfering in my relationship with coffee! I am glad to hear that it really works. I am interested in feedback from other Invisalignee's. TIA

The pain at first is so annoying and when you eat you notice it. Its like there is pressure on your teeth constantly. Figure you are forcing your teeth to move and thenbuild new bone around it. After the first few trays the pain is so little that its not botherson at all. A few Advil is enough to help. There is no bleeding at all, at least for me and everone I knew who used them.
It did help my snacking at first but then I fell back into the same old routine. With coffe you can stain the trays, make sure to remove them to drink anything but water.

I had braces as a kid, and it is so painful, especially when they had to be tightened. Since it's similar to braces, you should expect some disscomfort, it's literally moving your teeth around and forcing your gums to except it. But in the end it is sooo worth it, you really get a beautiful smile out of it. I wish they had Invisalign when I was younger. . . 1 year seems like nothing compared to the 3 I spent with braces. It was $4200 & i'm wearing them for 14 months. I think it will probably take longer. I'm taking lots of motrin & it helps. I guess I'll prob think it's worth it when I see the results though.

Maybe it's just my dentist, but did anyone else have the 'before' pictures taken with this crazy plastic thing that forces your lips away from your teeth to get a better a better picture of the teeth? I'm scared that pictures like this can get into the wrong hands
