NWR: Just wanted to share....
I was driving down Plainview Rd this evening to pick up FH's daughters, and I pass by this woman with a baby stroller flagging me down....
I loop around, and see she's hysterical crying... I ask her if she's ok - and she speaks no English - all she can say is 'Help' 'My son' and 'six years old.'
Her little baby is sleeping peacefully in the stroller, so I figured he was ok
I ask her if he's lost, she keeps saying No comprendo...
I call my dad because he works with people who speak Spanish, but since it was after 6 on Friday, they all left. He gives me one of their numbers, but there was no answer. He tells me to call the police... I decide to call 911, and explained what happened.
They put on a Spanish interpreter, they spoke, the woman hands me the phone, and the 911 operator told me she lost her 6 yr old nephew, and the police were on their way...
I wait with her until the police came, letting her use my phone to try and call family members, but there were no answers.
the police officer comes - I asked if he spoke Spanish, he said no, but they found the kid and he was at the station!
The poor woman couldn't even understand that - we were motioning thumbs up, its ok, he says - bambino with us....
She seemed to understand, and went with him to go to the station...
I am so happy I was able to help her - but most of all - I am so happy the little boy is ok....
