Sunset Key or the Hilton. I've stayed at both and you're right in the middle of everything!

Hyatt, Hilton, Pier House: all good choices. They are your typical 'big' hotels, but there are MANY beautiful B&Bs/inns that are wonderful too! We love the Curry Mansion Inn, I've heard great things about the Marquesa and the Gardens too. I LOVE KW! Visit keywest.com and check out fodors.com for more ideas/feedback from visitors.

Sunset Key is gorgeous. If you don't stay there, definitely have dinner at sunset at the restaurant there. The view is gorgeous and you can reserve a table right on the beach- it's so beautiful.

The Hyatt is also a great hotel. The Doubletree is on the other side of the island from Duval, but we were there a few years ago and the staff and the hotel were great. i'm so jealous that you're going to Key West- I love it there!

Casa Marina is the nicest hotel, with the only real beach in Key West. Otherwise I would recommend staying at one of the B&B's. www.fla-keys.com
