He has to have Oral Surgury on friday and hes getting knocked out....hes never been knocked out b4 and I know when I had mine done they mentioned something about having heart probs with the anestesia( Jenn can NOT Spell sorry)...Anyway, his fam has heart probs n im very worried, I just dont want to say anything to him cuz hes scared out of his mind and im trying to be strong for him...Has anyone ever heard of anthing like that. Im just having nightmares something will happen....Sorry Paranoid I know...But i had to tell someone, sorry I had to vent to u girls :)

These people do these surgeries everyday. God forbid something did happen they know how to handle it. I am sure he is in good hands.

I am sure he will be fine. The anastesia they use is only for a short time usually for oral surgery and complications are really really rare.
He might be a grump when he gets out of the anastesia though!!!!

Usually if they have MVP they just have to take an antibiotic 2 hours before the surgery

They will monitor him for any signs of anything. Plus for oral surgey its a very low dosage. I always throw up after getting anasthesia(however its spelled lol) but after I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled I woke up groggy but I didn't throw up. They don't give you too much of it. PLus he wont be under for too long oral surgey usually doesn't take that long. He should be fine.

Yea I know he will be fine, it just made me think that id have NOTHING if something happened to him and it scared me more then anything. I know I was really REALLY sick after I had mine done so i hope hell be okay when he gets up. Work knows im calling in to take care of him for 2 days :)

I had all four wisdom teeth pulled at once, and they knocked me out. There is nothing to worry about as far as them putting him to sleep. Make sure he follows the doctor's orders *no eating, smoking, drinking before OR after* and make sure he takes his antibiotics like clockwork. Also, let him know he'll feel like he's hungover that day/night and feel a little groggy the next day. I am such a baby when it comes to any type of doctor-ish stuff...I still tear up and hyperventilate when I give blood...so if I did it, anyone can! Lots of luck to him.

aww im sure he will be fine, they ask if he has heart problem but if so then they will give him abx b/4 the surgery but if he doesnt then he should be fine, no worried

aww i'm sure he'll be fine. my mom has had a major heart attack and whenever she needs stuff done at the dentist they make her take an antibiotic
i'm sure that as long as the oral surgeon knows his family history they will take good care of him. (not that they wouldnt other wise but make sure he's told them about that)
i'll keep him in my thoughts.

These doctors do this kind of thing everyday, it's second nature to them. If it makes you feel any better I have heart problems and have been put under anastesia (sp?) 4 times in my life with no complications. Just when I wake up I'm as naseaus as anything and usually puke but that's all and I don't think that has anything to do with my heart.

don't worry things will be fine, my fh had surgery a few years back so i know what your going through..good luck to your fh and my thoughts and prayers are with you!

I got put out last April - had all four wisdom teeth out at once, they were impacted! It was over fast, and I felt super groggy, and my face was swollen for a week!
Don't worry one bit - he'll be perfectly fine =) And you can take care of him
