NWR - ladies who live in apartments

i live on the second floor in an apartment complex and the building where laundry is isn't exactly close... i usually do laundry by myself, any suggestions on how to get it there? do you use a regular laundry basket, or something else?

I have a laundry bin sort of thing- (with handles)
Bed, Bath, & Beyond has them)

It helps, but its still a pain in the butt.

Good luck!

it's so funny -- FH and I just moved to Rochester and we had the same issue. Getting groceries from the car to the apartment and laundry to and from the machines was not an easy task.

We found a 'Grandma basket' the little cart with wheels that just about every Queens/Brooklyn grandma has.

We found it at Super Wal Mart. It's right in the laundry section and what a life (and back) saver!

HTH!

I bout those nice big blue Ikea bags for 99 cents each. The handles are long enough that I can loop the bags over my shoulder, and if I have some wet stuff, the bags are made of plastic.

I find it easier to use the bags than to carry a laundry basket. I also have small bottles to hold the detergent, fabric softener and bleach, and keep those in a tote bag. They get refilled from the jumbo bottles I buy at BJ's.

Hope this helps. I live onthe second floor of my garden co-op and have to go up and down two flights of stairs, thru the parking lot around the back of my building to get to the laundry room.

I have a grannie cart too, to tote my groceries from my garage, which is quite a walk, to my front door. I 've got to haul it up a half-flight of stairs in the parking lot too.

Love my grannie cart.

DH and I just haul all of our laundry across the street in those mesh laundry bags. I would use a grannie cart, but I am in a third floor walkup...blah...

I let FH take care of it Thats like his one task that he is in charge of... I sort it all, put it in bags, and he brings it down, hangs it up and brings it back when its dry
