I really need to permanently get rid of a few strands of hair above my lip. (I break out of I even attempt to wax or thread). Any reccomendations on a Place to go? Astoria would be ideal but the city and new hyde park and vicinity could work too!
Thanks girls!

Re: NWR - Laser Hair Removal
I have been getting laser hair removal on my arms, under arms, and the whole bikini area (brazilian) and it is AWESOME!!! I go to Contemporary Womens Care in Smithtown... my gyno has the laser office right in his practice and if you are a patient of his you get huge discounts... ask for Veronica if you go...she is amazing!
Its not laser, its IPL, much gentler. I tried laser once, I almost died from the pain. IPL is so comfortable and its working great for me.
If you call them, ask for Julia, and tell her Shana sent you ;)
She will give you a great price if you agree to do it at her home salon in Huntington, as apposed to going to her city salon.
I also love that she's all natural, she only uses an ice pack for the heat IPL generates and 100% pure aloe on you afterwards.
I love it. So much better than laser. FM if you want more details.

Re: NWR - Laser Hair Removal
I'm considering laser hair removal as well. I don't think that it would damage my skin, but how can you tell if you'll be susceptible to it?
Also, what do you think would work better for someone with coarse hair?

Re: NWR - Laser Hair Removal
I think that so long as you are draker haired (at least for the lips) you can go for it. My sister is light haired and she made an appt but they reccommended against it for her since she is fair haired. (b/c it likely would not work)

Re: NWR - Laser Hair Removal
Just careful with laser, there are so many issues with it. I was just talking to my sister about this and we found this video:
